What are they and where do I find them?
From the original article Screentone or are you...? by bakenekogirl!
What are Screentones?
"Screentone (or Halftone) is a technique for applying textures and shades to drawings, used as an alternative to hatching. In the conventional process, patterns are transferred to paper from preprinted sheets, but the technique is also simulated in computer graphics. It is also known by the common brand names Zip-A-Tone (1937, now defunct), Chart-Pak (1949), and Letratone (1966, from Letraset)."
A traditional screentone sheet consists of a flexible transparent backing, the printed texture, and a wax adhesive layer. The sheet is applied to the paper, adhesive down, and rubbed with a stylus on t
Comic Writing TutorialsHey deviantARTers-
I just finished up a 5 part comic writing tutorial run through on my blog and figured, since there are so many comic book fans and creative-types here, I'd post links to them here in case any of you might find them useful/interesting:

And I'm back for the feature... oh my, I wasn't here for almost 2 weeks Sorry cuz of that, but I have to make ton of stuff for college, so I probably won't be here that much in next upcoming weeks. So I hope you can also wait for my new stuff which I draw (a little slowly...I paused process cuz of school ).
But I also have great news for you. One of my newest drawings which I still draw, I record. So soon you'll be able to see on our YouTube account whole process how I draw my paintings. From sketch till finished piece. But I guess I'll have to post it in few parts (cuz I already draw it more than 14 hours and I just started ).
And here is the feature. I featured some amazing character and environment pieces by great artists all around dA. If you like these works, then fav them... and you can also fav this article and help these artists, so they can get more attention. Thank you and I hope you enjoy this feature
Red Riding HoodI want to believe people so badly when they say they won’t bite
that I contemplate climbing into their smiling jaws
thinking that it might be better to be split in two than left hanging.
But always, I draw my red hood and flit back into the forest
running in the shadows of pathways, never stepping into clearings
because I’ve spent my whole life in the wilderness
and I still can’t tell the wolves from the woodsmen.
You Were Not An Aquarium BoySea-glass became your bones,
brine your blood, and seashells
melded into your skin.
You were not quite an ocean
when you said "This is your sign to love me."
My body was like a building;
tall, cold, almost unbreakable.
I was metallic and sharp,
towering over your waters.
I remember taking your hand in mine,
conch and coral shells scrubbing
my skyscraper wrists, and laughing
about how one day you would
submerge every last bit of me.
Your lips, riddled with argonauts,
found my cheek and I cringed
at the coarseness.
You asked if they bothered me
and I finally told you "I
think I love you."
